Christopher Rowe’s story “Voluntary State” has made the preliminary ballot for the Nebula Award for best novelette. On his online journal he explains for family and friends what the preliminary ballot means exactly, writing:
Many of you recall that the last time I was up for a big prize (Adair County High School Driver’s Education Award, Boys Division, Class of ‘87), I was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony owing to the fact that I was in the hospital following a car accident.
I’m as dazed now as I was then.
As many of you know, Christopher has the good fortune to be married to Ms. Bond.
