Moby speaks.

Filed under: In The Conversation — caaf @ 12:26 pm

I’m nano-rhimo-ing this morning, but wanted to break in to encourage you to listen to Moby Lives’ new book-news podcast, which looks like it will be offered daily, with editor Dennis Loy Johnson reading an assortment of literary news items. Similar to the printed version of Moby, with 4 or so stories covered in about five minutes; in format it reminded me of the bulletins you get at the top of the hour on the radio, but more conversational and with a nice amount of context and background.

I listened to the Nov. 8 installment this morning with coffee — in addition to being informational, it’s also wryly funny and urbane. You will go forth into the day better acquainted with the politics of French literary prizes and with the comforting knowledge that Scooter Libby does not, as it turns out, sign his books “Scooter.” Check it out.

UPDATE: I’m letarded. Moby Lives Radio continues after the news bulletin to include commentary and conversation, today with Bookslut’s Jessa Crispin. (Thanks to the unletarded Michael Schaub.)
